Currently serving his second term in the House of Representatives, Mike Soter has emerged as a powerful voice for his communities and economic justice.
Representative Michael J. Soter currently serves as the State Representative for Massachusetts’s 8th Worcester District. Mike represents the towns of Bellingham, Blackstone, Medway, Millville, and Uxbridge.
After being sworn in for the first time on January 2nd, 2019, Representative Soter was eager to get to work serving his constituents and making a difference on Beacon Hill. Representative Soter is focused on the issues that directly affect his district.
Rep. Soter is consistently working to ensure proper funding for school districts, maintain infrastructure, and improve public safety for the broader constituency of the 8th Worcester District. As the Ranking Member on the Joint Committee on Financial Services and the Joint Committee on Revenue, and sitting on the Joint Committee on Cannabis Policy and Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, Rep. Soter is well versed on a wide variety of topics.
Dedicated to being accessible to his constituents, Mike regularly holds open office hours throughout the four towns and is consistently seen at local events. He regularly hosts constituents and town officials at the statehouse to advocate for legislation and often coordinates visits to celebrate the accomplishments of student groups of a wide variety.
Prior to being elected to the Massachusetts Legislature, Representative Soter served an impactful seven-year career on the Board of Selectmen for the town of Bellingham, serving as the board's Chairman for his last three years. In addition to his significant experience in local politics, Mike has also built a solid foundation as a successful businessman, bringing a unique mindset set to the State House.
